I came up with a new idea for the site yesterday, for my projects page I'd like to make it more of a scrolling page, where the user can scroll down the page to view each of the projects.
First though, I need to find a way to use anchors and link the thumbnails on the front page to a different section of the projects page. I know there are anchor tags you can use but I'll need to do some research into how to do that.

My unspoken idea of a scrollable gallery something like iTunes has for album art went through well without a hitch. It has arrows now that are white so the user can chose to scroll via arrows, or by clicking the individual picture of the website.
My next move is going to be getting the site to look a little more interactive, I may change the color of the arrows to something that will fit the site's current color scheme a little better. Tomorrow I'll be working on the sub pages of the site, and hopefully will get all of them done by the end of class. That will give me plenty of time to be able to work out the last few kinks.

I need to start focusing on the secondary pages of the site now that I've worked out what the main page will look like. I've run into a bit of a snag with the projects page in that I've already presented my projects on the main page. Perhaps it'd be interesting to simply give a short, brief description of the project on the main page, then on the "Projects" page, I can have a larger shot and a secondary area in which you could read more about the project.
The About page will be relatively simple. It should most likely be a short chunk of information about myself, and a bit of a resume as to whom I've worked for, how long I've been working, etc. I might bring in a few pictures of myself on that page, perhaps using the same fashion as on the front page, a smaller picture with a bit of a description under it.
The Contact page will be simpler yet, I'll have a picture of my phone on there, with a screenshot of the dial pad. Nexto to it can be my phone number and email address with a bit of information for people to consider when contacting me. I dont think I want to run any information/graphics outside of the black border on this page.

*Sigh* Why must the Peeps always be stale?
I've been thinking more about the final site lately and have decided that for the bottom portion where my scrolling bar might be, I will leave the background transparent so the gradient is visible through it. Also I will expand the edges of the page by moving the scrolling bar out further on the right side, and will have something else on the left side to balance it out.
In the top portion I'm still worried about the actual presentation of the work which would be selected from below. Since they're in rectangular orientation, I'll have to deal with trying to find a happy medium for the size of the picture and still have enough room to put some text beside it describing the project.
I may look into trying to do something like putting the text under the picture. The picture could be smaller and have description directly below it. The only issue there is that unless I put a LOT of text in there, it might just look like a picture with captions below, whereas I'd rather it be the centerpoint of the page with plenty of stuff to read about it.

I've been contemplating some of the filler to add into the website under the about section. I think I've organized it well enough that it will look good.

Thinking about some ideas as to how to actually BUILD my final website. The abnormality of the layout makes the site really cool and fun to look at but I need to make sure I leave it as function as it is good looking. As far as the graphics on the right hand side of the page, I am likely going to just leave them as a picture, that makes things easy, but spacing for the DivTags can really be a pain.
The right hand side of the site can be a full picture, on the left side, I need to think about presenting the work that i've done. I can have an area of text to go with the picture of the project sites, but I really dont want to put the navigation there also.
If I leave the navigation for the different sites down below in a scrolling format but compact it, make it a bit smaller and move it to the right of the page. On the bottom lefthand side, I'll put a bit of information on the site itself, a sort of intro. Where the actual picture of the site is going to need to be cut down, maybe 75%. I can put the explanation of the screenshot underneath it.
